PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for a Geotechnical Department Manager to join our Building & Construction team in our Dallas, TX office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

How you’ll make an impact at Intertek:

Responsible for the management of the geotechnical engineering services including:

  • Provides geotechnical engineering/management support

  • Manage the Profit and Loss of the group and ability to understand the financial of the group and make effective changes.

  • Manages personnel resources through hiring, training, and development

  • Conducts client management and business development activities.

  • Develops and fosters strong client relationships by attending industry events

  • Develops new opportunities within the geotechnical service line

  • Communicates effectively with client and project teams; attends client meetings

  • Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for task assignments

  • Makes decisions and recommendations in reference to test report results, project field circumstances and inspections

  • Prepares and reviews geotechnical reports for projects as per specifications

  • Assigns work /tasks to staff as applicable

  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited engineering /ABET school is required

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred

  • 5+ years of experience is required in geotechnical engineering/consulting. At least 2+ years’ experience in managing drilling, laboratory, and engineering scope

  • Texas P.E. License is required or ability to quickly get reciprocity

  • Candidates must have very strong communication skills and the ability to work with a team across the nation and the world

  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime
