This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Asbestos Project Inspector for our Austin, Dallas, or Houston, Texas office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Act as the company's asbestos technician representatives during asbestos abatements in designated workspaces in various industry sectors.

  • Follow instructions from Project Managers and senior project monitors.

  • Monitor final air clearance during asbestos abatements.

  • Collect PCM and TEM air samples and properly record chain of custodies, daily logs, and maintain involvement in project oversight and result reporting in fulfillment with assessment and monitoring requirements of asbestos abatements in compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws.

  • The position entails frequent travel throughout Texas. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and good driving record required.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate

  • 5 yrs of relevant work experience

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights and weekends

  • Must have own vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10-hr/30-hr Construction Certificate a plus

  • Updated Fit Test and Medical Testing documents a plus

  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER

  • At least two of the following Texas licenses or ability to quickly obtain:

  • Asbestos - Asbestos Inspector; Asbestos Project Manager; Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician

  • Lead - Lead Risk Assessor; Lead Inspector

  • Mold - Mold Assessment Consultant; Mold Assessment Technician
