Do you like analyzing data and providing key actionable insights based on your analysis? Do you have an interest in cameras and photography? The Camera team is looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual to drive analytics data collection for camera. The iPhone is the most popular camera in the world with billions of photos taken in this product line each year. We need to be able to understand customer usage patterns in order to tailor our software and hardware solutions to align with our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate for this role will not only shape the vision of the analytics practice for camera but will also provide hands-on expertise to deliver critical data needed in our everyday business decisions.

Key Qualifications

  • Aptitude for data analysis, with a strong statistics or quantitative background

  • Proficient data querying skills (SQL) and experience with a scripting language (Python or R)

  • Experience with visualizing data in Tableau, Splunk, and/or Python

  • Strong communication and presentational skills

  • Expertise in collaborating with many cross-functional teams; demonstrated team player

  • Time management and organizational skills. Capable of effectively switching between tasks many times in a workday.

  • Software programming experience in C, C++, ObjC, and/or Swift

  • Familiarity with Cameras & Photography is a bonus

  • Familiarity with database technologies, database bringup, and query optimization is a bonus

Description

Serve as resident analytics expert for Camera Software across all Apple product lines. Provide guidance to partner teams on how to interpret Camera analytics data. Build dashboards & reports to convey findings from collected analytics data in a clear and effective manner. Deploy new metrics to continue to understand Camera usage as we roll out new products. Maintain strong working relationships with a variety of key teams including: Software, Hardware, Marketing, Operations, Privacy, and Data Management teams. Partner with Camera Software leadership to understand how analytics data is reported, and to analyze nuances in data reporting. Validate data collection on new and existing metrics. Continue to look for areas to improve and expand analytics capabilities.

Education & Experience

BS in Data Analytics, Software, Engineering, or a related quantitative field At least 3-5 years working in data analytics Previous software/engineering experience preferred

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
