Reputable firm with a track record for success seeks a highly experienced and driven Managing Attorney to lead their dynamic Plaintiff Employment team in Los Angeles. This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to shape the department's strategy, mentor attorneys, and play a crucial role in achieving exceptional results for their clients.

Responsibilities:

Case Management:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of assigned plaintiff employment cases, from initial client intake to trial and appeal.

• Develop and implement case strategies, ensuring efficient investigation, discovery, and preparation for litigation.

• Delegate tasks and provide guidance to associate attorneys and legal staff.

• Manage case budgets and maintain accurate records.

Client Relations:

• Build strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication, empathetic support, and expert legal advice.

• Negotiate settlements and obtain optimal outcomes for clients.

• Prepare clients for depositions and court appearances.

Team Leadership:

• Mentor and coach associate attorneys, fostering their professional development and growth.

• Create a positive and collaborative team environment.

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of department policies and procedures.

Litigation Experience:

• Demonstrate a proven track record of success in complex plaintiff employment litigation, including experience with:

• Wage and hour violations

• Discrimination and harassment

• Wrongful termination

• Retaliation

• Whistleblower claims

• Strong deposition and courtroom presence.

• Excellent legal research and writing skills.

Requirements

• Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school.

• CA Bar License in good standing.

• 15+ years of experience practicing plaintiff employment law in California.

• Prior management experience in a legal setting.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Commitment to pro bono work and social justice.
