The Role

The Senior Application Development Lead role will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, developing, & documenting specifications & solutions for projects with focus on the Microsoft D365 ERP system. This position will also directly work with Global Accounting & Finance to respond to team inquiries on related financial systems timely, troubleshoot financial system issues and analyze current business and financial practices. The Sr. Application Developer will act as a liaison between finance business groups and IT teams and be able to explain technical solutions to senior leadership in concise and meaningful ways. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and excellent communication skills. The ability to work well with other developers and stakeholders in a dynamic environment, think creatively, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.

Your day-to-day

  • Developing and analyzing project functional requirements, test plans, and evaluating test results to determine compliance with established business processes.

  • Analyze requirements, develop technical design specifications, develop packages, APIs, extensions, workflows, integrations and custom reports.

  • Write SQL queries/scripts to convert data into formats supported on the D365 platform.

  • Modify existing codes to optimize / maintain D365 applications.

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including discovery, analysis, requirements definition, solution design, configuration, code development, testing, deployment and support.

  • Share and develop excellence in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with strong testing, debugging and analytical skills

  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from end-users and/or technical staff regarding application, system, & reporting issues.

  • Must be able to identify, troubleshoot, solve, and manage systems problems under time constraints with minimal supervision.

  • Customer focus and confident in making critical decisions independently in a fast paced and demanding environment

  • Experience in troubleshooting and driving technical investigations to determine root causes of issues

  • Solid communication and cross-discipline collaboration skills, working with other IT professionals, business stakeholders and senior level management

  • Experience in creating requirement specifications based on Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes

  • Responsible to work with 3rd party vendors to understand and resolve open system issues, develop and align on architectural design decisions and set delivery expectations

  • Outlining and administering training on systems when needed and create training documentation for new projects.

  • Administer and support business applications and integrations: Concur, Blackline, Zuora RevPro, Atlas reporting, Power BI, Fastpath, Avalara, SKG Treasury and other financial systems.

What you bring to the team

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Computer Science, Technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

  • Dynamics 365 F&O development experience required.

  • Experience working with financial related applications and working with vendors and internal customers to resolve and respond to financial system issues and inquiries.

  • Development skills in X++ and customization patterns using extensions and event handlers preferred

  • Experience with AX/D365 report development and Power BI including QA ability. Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate is a plus

  • Data migration experience using data entities with Data management framework (previously known as DIXF).

  • Experience with integration of Dynamics 365 F&O with other applications using OData, custom webservices, SOAP. Experience implementing EDI interfaces is a plus.

  • Additional development skills in Java, .NET and C++ and MSSQL experience are a plus.

  • Complete working understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC).

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Dynamics 365 related production and integration issues on a day-to-day basis.

  • Experience in multiple Finance functional areas (e.g. accounting, record-to-report, business intelligence, payroll, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash) and solid track record in working on cross-functional team projects.

  • Good understanding of D365 change and release management with knowledge in code deployments using deployable packages and knowledge in D365 database restores.

  • Experience in managing D365 environments with solid understanding of LCS and Azure DevOps.

  • Ability to manage user access, roles, privileges and custom security enhancements.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment.

  • Availability to provide On-Call and After-Hours support.
