The Role

Manages the technical functions for D365 and other Finance systems and coordinates activities of one or more groups within Proofpoint, working with Corporate IT, BizApps, data warehouse, Business and Fin-IT teams. This role also manages the technical delivery of external delivery partners to ensure it is designed based on Proofpoint’s development guidelines, reviewed, and documented sufficiently.

  • Directs the internal or external development and testing of multiple projects, working with internal/external resources, with hands-on support when needed.

  • Ensures the development of accurate and thorough forecasts for development work.

  • Communicates with others across technologies, platforms, systems, etc. as to status of projects, open issues, and upcoming deliverables, noting any changes from the planned project with the internal (and external) Project Manager(s).

  • Ensures systems and technical infrastructures, including ERP and other Finance / integrated systems are in place and operating effectively based on our SDLC guidelines.

  • Manages the activities of their direct reports to ensure that the team is working effectively and efficiently, with focus of bringing in-house as much development as possible with the given resources.

  • Manages business partner expectations on which projects will be funded and resourced.

  • Contributes to the identification of development resources for priority projects.

  • Anticipates conflicting needs and proactively resolves them.

  • Supports the project team to ensure success, including removing roadblocks, helping the team to navigate the organization, etc.

  • Coordinates resources effectively, including resources under their direct control, or controlled by contractors, vendors, or within other technical groups at Proofpoint.

  • Ensures that projects are on time, on budget and solutions are designed, developed, and tested to meet the needs of the business based on PFPT guidelines and best practices.

  • Identifies when additional funding is needed based on scope changes and communicates scope changes timely.

  • Build out Power Platform, Power Apps/Automate, RPA and Co-Pilot capabilities available on the MSFT platform to reduce manual work within Finance processes to facilitate the Finance Transformation roadmap.

  • Lead coordination with MSFT Development team on their future capability roadmap and ensure alignment with future Finance projects.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Maintains and updates existing documentation and standard operating procedures.

  • Manages activities of the group(s), coordinating/integrating across project boundaries as appropriate.

  • Ensures individual goal setting is effectively linked to corporate and department goals.

  • Works directly with MSFT and other Finance system vendors to understand their development roadmaps in order to proactively make recommendations to appropriate business units regarding the development of new services, capabilities and projects that further support and strengthen the capabilities of the business unit and Proofpoint.

  • Works directly with delivery partners to review solution design, code review and ensure proper documentation is prepared and signed-off.

  • Develops draft budgets and manages approved budget for the group(s).

  • Seeks out and plans technical development for the Finance-IT technical resources.

  • Assesses performance and makes disciplinary recommendations.

  • Oversees activities of staff and adapts staff deployment to changing priorities, to ensure key goals.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Relevant Dynamics / D365 F&O development experience required.

  • Extensive management experience, with a BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.

  • Strong development skills in X++ and customization patterns using extensions and event handlers preferred.

  • Data migration experience using data entities with Data management framework (previously known as DIXF).

  • Experience with integration of Dynamics 365 F&O with other applications

  • Understanding of custom webservices, SOAP.

  • Experience implementing EDI interfaces is a plus.

  • Additional development skills in Java, .NET and C++ and MSSQL experience are a plus.

  • Knowledge or ability to develop custom solutions and integrations using MSFT Power Automate and Power Apps, RPA and other capabilities of the MSFT Power Platform

  • Knowledge and relevant experience to support integrations with Finance systems using Mulesoft or other similar integration platforms.

  • Experience developing strategies and decisions for ERP Optimization on Azure DevOps / LCS

  • Experience implementing best in class Finance business processes with working knowledge of how the technical systems capabilities support them.
