JPMorgan Chase Control Manager in Columbus, Ohio

The Controls Governance team oversees the operational risk and control environment of the Commercial Bank (CB) and directly supports the CB Chief Control Manager with the delivery of executive controls reporting to CB senior management through its Control Committee. We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to clients including corporations, municipalities, institutions, real estate investors and owners, and nonprofit organizations.

As a Sr. Associate on the Controls Governance Team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of data-driven analysis and reporting. You will work closely with data teams and senior management across the Commercial Bank Controls organization to gather and analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and oversee the development and deployment of data and analytics products. Additionally, you will partner with Line of Business, Functional & Regional Control Managers, Risk, and Compliance to ensure effective oversight of the Commercial Banking Control Committee reporting and communication of control related issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produces metrics (KRI/KPI) and key topic material critical to the Commercial Bank's operational risk for Firmwide Control Committee

  • Creates and facilitation of the monthly Control Committee materials, adhering to the minimum requirements for content to be discussed, frequency, reporting and escalation as established in the Firmwide Standards.

  • Designs, develops, and produces biweekly, monthly, and ad hoc Operational Risk reporting packages for Senior Leaders

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for data and analytics products.

  • Translate business requirements into clear and concise technical specifications.

  • Designs and develop data models, data pipelines, and data visualization dashboards.

  • Collaborate with the CB Governance and Program team(s) to provide meaningful reporting updates on Operational Risk, emerging trends, risk events, and change management controls.

  • Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, including Controls, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Product and Technology to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices.

  • Lead by example, with exemplary personal and professional attributes. Inspire confidence in all levels of key partners from other functional areas and across the Lines of Business

  • Lead or participate in other responsibilities or projects in support of Risk Control & Governance, as assigned.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum 3 or more years of financial services experience in controls, audit, finance, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance

  • Ability to use solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize data and formulate appropriate conclusions - Developing timely and sustainable solutions, Implement/analyze metrics for key risks

  • Ability to understand the business / develop enhanced knowledge of the Controls environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to Network - exceptional interpersonal, collaboration and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously to drive change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment

  • Strong understanding & experience with data analytics tools and techniques (Alteryx, Tableau, Snowflake)

  • Experience working with broad cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and deliver best practices.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement
