BH Crisis Services Clinician I - Youth Crisis Stabilization Requisition ID 2024-53601 Category Behavioral Health Overview The Behavioral Health Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit (YCSU) Clinician is responsible for providing intensive, short-term, evidence-based treatment to patients who are experiencing psychiatric/behavioral health crises. The YCSU Clinician will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychiatric/behavioral health treatment to youth admitted to YCSU. The goal of treatment on the YCSU is stabilizing the crisis and improving functioning of the youth and family system by utilizing interventions to focus on the crises for the individual and the family. The Crisis Services Clinician I practices under supervision while working towards goal of independent licensure. Schedule - 3 -12 hour shifits Why Nationwide Children's Hospital? Responsibilities The Crisis Services Clinician I implements and supports the philosophy, mission, values, standards, policies and procedures established by Nationwide Children's Hospital, Behavioral Health Crisis Services and Ohio Licensure requirements. The Crisis Services YCSU Clinician I perform Assessment, Treatment, Care Coordination and other responsibilities as outlined below: a. Diagnostic Assessment/Risk Assessments - Provides relevant and timely diagnostic assessment of patients - Accurately evaluates and documents client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status and diagnosis - Competently assesses risk for lethality and engages in thorough safety planning b. Treatment Planning - Collaborates with client/family to assist in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives for treatment. - Recommends disposition for level of care, utilizing case consultation and staffing, as appropriate c. Evidence Based Interventions - Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations. - Incorporates trauma-informed care philosophy, practices and strategies in all interventions. - Utilizes appropriate intervention including individual and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, de-escalation and safety planning to increase patient/family functioning. - Maintains productivity expectations as identified by program and promotes patient access to care.
