KBR is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented, results-driven QA Engineer to join our team to deliver an Enterprise Management solution for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and revolutionize the way the DoD delivers software. The scope and seniority of the role will be determined by the relevant experience and demonstrated mastery of the applicant. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. KBR provides leading edge SE&I services to help the Space Force’s Space System Center develop and acquire communications satellites, terminals, and control stations. These are essential for global secure, survivable, and protected communications for national security. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the quality and functionality of software applications by conducting comprehensive testing and debugging (both manual and automated testing)

  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage

  • Manage and track test runs, reporting on status and results

  • Identify, document, and report issues, following up to ensure timely resolution

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and identify risks

  • Assist in creating test plans and strategies for new feature releases

  • Implement automated UI tests

  • Implement integration tests for microservices in the context of DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines

  • Collaborate with Software Architects, Software Engineers, Cyber Security experts, and Data Scientists to develop, test and deploy production ready artifacts

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in software testing and software release management

  • Proven experience in manual testing, with the ability to create detailed, effective test cases

  • Proficiency in test management tools for tracking, running, and reporting on test cases

  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques

  • Familiarity with Test Driven Design Methodology

  • Ability to analyze software specifications and design test plans and test cases

  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Unix/Linux, and macOS

  • Familiarity with scripting tools (Unix shell, Windows PowerShell, Python)

  • Understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles and tools

  • Proficient working in Agile teams and associated tools (JIRA, etc.)

  • Experience with testing automation tools such as Selenium and Cypress

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Unix shell scripting or Python

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired:

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Golang, JavaScript

  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with database testing

  • Familiarity with security testing methodologies and tools, such as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing

  • Knowledge of security standards and regulations such as NIST and OWASP

  • Ability to identify security risks and provide recommendations for mitigation

  • Familiarity with security incident response and handling procedures

  • Working knowledge with Docker containers and microservices

  • Familiarity with integrating CI/CD feedback with code review systems like GitHub, and group chat software such as Slack

  • Familiarity with SATCOM, spectral processing and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference)

  • Deployment/configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)

  • SQL and NoSQL database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB

  • AWS/Azure/GCP/Oracle Cloud or equivalent cloud computing technologies

  • Message queues and event-driven systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ

  • Working in a distributed management framework where various stakeholders control different aspects of the infrastructure, network and platform

  • Experience with testing REST API endpoints

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

  • Experience with security testing tools such as Metasploit, Nessus, and Burp Suite

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Basic Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
