Title – Field Technician

Location – Spider Cleveland – 5251 W. 130th Street, Cleveland, OH 44130

Hours – Monday-Friday, 6a – 3p OT or occasional weekends based on business needs)

Type – Full-time/ Permanent

We are currently seeking a FIELD TECHNICIAN to safely perform routine inspections, preventive and complex repairs on our hoist and scaffolding equipment, in addition to swing stage rigging in the field. The ideal candidate for this position must have proven troubleshooting experience & demonstrate high level safety, hard-work, professionalism, attention to detail, and customer care.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, Troubleshoot, teardown, repair, reassemble, test, and perform maintenance on Safeworks standard equipment and accessories with direction and oversight.

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.

  • Perform highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests working under the direction of a supervisor or service center lead.

  • Provide service and customer support via phone/email and on the job sites.

  • Accurately record parts, complete paperwork as required, and maintain accurate inventory.

  • Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.

  • Verify dimensions of parts, using precision measuring instruments to ensure that specifications are met.

  • Perform shop labor as needed to maintain an orderly, safe, efficient work environment.

  • Perform warehouse duties when required.

  • Rig, De-Rig, inspect, and install swing stage equipment in the field.

  • Package parts and materials for shipping.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • DOT required.

  • MVR required.Lift 75+lbs. in a regular basis.

  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the year.

  • Must be able to join the Union Local #310 after 30 days.

  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Willing to work in construction areas in high elevation (up to, but not limited to 75 stories above ground)

  • Willing to work in all types of weather conditions.

  • Positive attitude and self-motivated.

  • Electro-mechanical experience.

  • Previous experience in construction field or scaffolding field.

  • Microsoft Office and basic computer experience.

  • 2 yrs. Mechanical experience.

  • 3 yrs. General Construction experience.

  • Forklift experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for continuous periods of time, walk, have clarity of vision, talk, and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk, lift items up to 75 pounds and reach with hands and arms.
