OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County is sourcing a Maintenance Technician for a non-profit on the West side of Cleveland   **

Responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of the buildings and grounds including determining what work is necessary to properly maintain the buildings as well as meet building compliance and regulatory requirements. Completes repairs and keeps physical structures of office buildings maintained using hand tools and power tools. Responsible for all maintenance and repairs including: electrical, plumbing, painting, heating and cooling, carpentry, landscaping, and office upkeep (vacuuming/dusting/trash/etc.). Works with all staff to ensure safe and clean working environment for employees and clients.

Essential Functions Perform maintenance and improvement work on the property, including maintenance emergencies, service requests, capital improvements, preventative maintenance, grounds - including snow removal in the winter, in a timely manner resulting in quality work and sound service performance.

Assist the Facility Manager in ensuring the property meets all facility and maintenance related compliance requirements, tax credit, HUD/REAC, OSHA, Green Communities and the standards described in the Highland West Community's Maintenance Policies and Procedures Manual.

Create service requests for routine work needed and inform the Executive Director of capital improvement needs or urgent problems discovered during the inspection.

Be available for on-call maintenance emergencies as needed.

Additional Responsibilities


Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the property, the building systems, and maintenance policies and procedures. Interact with employees and clients in a courteous and professional manner. Inspect the buildings and grounds daily to observe the condition of the property. Clean common areas and grounds. Contact vendors for maintenance emergency repairs when necessary. Approval from the Executive Director is necessary. Work in an environment where work is completed based on the priority of the work. Maintain a schedule that allows the Facility Manager to ensure maintenance staff availability during business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00. Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
