Position Description:

This position is a hybrid onsite working role in our client's office in Pittsburgh, PA. However, Dallas, TX and Cleveland, OH are also acceptable work locations.

CGI is seeking a talented and experienced Genesys API Developer to join our dynamic team at one of our top tier US banking clients. As an API Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust application programming interfaces (APIs) to enhance the functionality of our Genesys software application. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of APIs.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• API Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement high-quality APIs that meet business requirements.

• Collaborate with software architects to define API specifications and standards.

• Integration and Testing: Integrate APIs with existing systems and third-party services.

• Conduct thorough testing to identify and address potential issues, ensuring the reliability and scalability of APIs.

• Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for APIs, including technical specifications, usage guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end and back-end developers, to ensure seamless integration of APIs. Collaborate with product managers to understand and implement feature requests.

• Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in API code to ensure optimal speed and efficiency. Implement security best practices to safeguard APIs against potential vulnerabilities.

• Version Control: Utilize version control systems to manage and track changes to API code.

• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for API-related issues.

• Collaborate with support teams to resolve customer-reported problems related to APIs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Familiarity/experience with call center technology

• Candidate should have experience with Genesys Cloud Architect

• Candidate should have experience building Genesys call flows and data actions that include integrations with external APis/systems

• Candidate should have experience in microservices development/integration.

• Proven experience as an API Developer or similar role.

• Solid understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.

• Experience with API security protocols and best practices.

• 5+ years’ experience as Java developer

• 2+ years’ experience with Spring and microservices

• Strong aptitude for learning on the fly, embracing new technologies, and willingness to make stretch goals

• Experience with Microservices development

• Strong experience of writing and maintaining unit tests.

• Experience with GIT version control

• Experience with Jenkins and Pipelines

• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently

• Ability to collaborate with others

• Very strong verbal and written communication skills

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $86,900 - $168,900.
