Aston Carter Controller in Clayton, North Carolina

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on management of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances

  • Navigate complex accounting topics including POC Revenue Recognition

  • Prepare annual budget and monthly forecast updates

  • Manage and control costs across the business

  • Recommend, develop, and implement new practices, procedures, and systems to improve operating efficiency, reporting capabilities, and internal controls

  • Manage the A/R and A/P operations fostering best-in-class processes and preserving cash management position with Corporate

  • Coordinate with Corporate Accounting concerning annual financial audit requests and semi-annual internal audits

  • Monitor inventory reporting and controls, including analysis of inventory reserves and slow-moving inventory balances

  • Assist with annual physical inventory, ensuring accurate reporting of results

  • Assist in the development of new business by analyzing the feasibility of new programs and processes

  • Assist the Director of Operations with financial analysis of programs and processes; assist with special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other areas of finance as needed

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Experience

  • Strong foundation in accounting, audit, and finance

  • Solid accounting and reporting experience - solid budgeting and forecasting experience

  • Must be comfortable presenting financial findings to leadership and making recommendations for change based on variance/trend analysis

  • Superior communication and organization skills

  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
