Adecco Staffing is working with one of the America's few remaining, family-owned smokehouses to fill a Materials Handler position on 1st shift! These are temp-hire positions.

Pay Rate:

• $19.00/hour

Hours :

• 1st Shift: Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 5:30pm; some Saturdays

Job Overview:

The employee will be responsible for assisting in all facets of finished goods, inventory control, and receivables while ensuring safe actions, environmental compliance, and quality production in a Good Manufacturing Practice food-grade operation. All in compliance with the standards of wholesomeness, hygiene, health & safety at work. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must have prior forklift experience

• Ability to clearly read and interpret numbers

• Putting up all finished goods that come off the production lines

• Use FIFO for proper inventory rotation

• General warehouse housekeeping

• Weekly cycle counts of all bacon & sausage products

• Assist in the monthly inventory

• Putting pallets on racks

• Take pallets out of Case & Pack

• Take pallets down when shipper needs large quantity

• Handle all receiving (raw goods, dry goods, packaging materials and pallets)

• Sorting of pallets

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D

• Prior forklift/warehouse experience

• Prior food processing experience

Required Skills:

• Highly detail oriented and meticulous

• Autonomy, versatility, thoroughness, and resourcefulness

• Good operational judgment (initiative)

• Strong commitment to teamwork and concern for others (promote a team-building environment)

• High level of personal responsibility and ownership

• Ability to speak effectively and professionally before groups of customers, employees of organization, and drivers

• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Position Requirements:

• Basic mathematical skills in weights, temperatures, times, and general numbers

• Able to work in a cold/hot environment

• Wear bump cap, safety boots and gloves at all times

• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Able to operate computer and write routine reports and correspondence

• Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception acuities

• Follow and promote safe work practices
