Process & Design Engineer - Plastics and Molding
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Process & Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of our plastics processing and molding design. This role combines the technical expertise of a Plastics Process Engineer with the creative design skills of a Design Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize injection molding, over-molding, and insert molding processes.
- Design and document injection molding tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Select appropriate plastic material grades and vendors for new equipment.
- Collaborate with innovation teams to explore new processes and materials for reliability and cost reduction.
- Provide engineering support to improve and maintain manufacturing processes and operations.
- Exercise a high level of independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in making decisions.
Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience in plastics processing with a focus on injection molding and plastics extrusion.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Strong math and science skills to assist with creating and improving manufacturing methods.
- Experience with tool development, material selection, and vendor management.
