Ankura Senior Director - Interim Controller, Office of the CFO in Chicago, Illinois

Required Experience:

  • Proven Controller experience; managing and leading all accounting and financial reporting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations, and balance sheet management

  • Current or recent experience serving external clients in a consulting capacity; specifically in an interim - management role

  • Previous experience preparing monthly statements of income, balance sheets and cash flow at the corporate level

  • Prior experience managing bank relationships and reporting – monthly/quarterly borrowing base calculations, monthly financial statements, quarterly financial reporting and annual third party reviewed financial statements.

  • Familiarity with managing external audit of financial statements.

  • Experience coordinating and preparing tax schedules, return and information, managing tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes

  • Established track record as a Controller for PE-owned businesses with revenues in the $250 million to $1 billion range

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Health Care, Technology, Business Services or Retail preferred

  • Improving the performance of a finance organization by upgrading staff skills, re-designing processes and internal controls.

  • Experience leveraging the following ERPs: Oracle (R11/R12/NetSuite), SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, etc

    Professional Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Active CPA highly preferred

  • Strong written, oral, and analytical skills

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Structured project management (time, team, and work-stream’s management)

  • Initiative and drive

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Skill to deliver time-pressured project on-time and on-quality

  • Flexible and creative thinking

  • Exceptional client relationship building capability

  • Ability to identify key operational performance drivers, cash flow forecasting, and flexibility to support clients with a broad array of issues

  • Developing findings and making strategic recommendations

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 10+ years of previous related financial management roles, cost accounting, general ledger accounting, accounting diligence, or restructuring experience

  • Ability to traveling extensively within the US

  • Existing PE relationships a plus

    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $110,000 to $240,000 this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
