Summary:

The Manager, Finance is responsible for various financial tasks related to Rush University Medical Group including the financial analysis needed for proformas, lookbacks, and strategic support/funds flow. The Manager serves as an expert for the complex financial and analytical needs related to ongoing department and provider financial reviews. The Manager partners with RUMG Finance leadership and departmental financial contacts to implement changes that improve financial outcomes. The Manager formulates recommendations based upon data analysis and provides guidance and education. The position requires the development of a highly collaborative relationship with faculty recruitment, hospital finance, RUMG departments, budget office and decision support. Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, or a related field required.

• At least five years of healthcare experience in practice management, finance, or decision support required.

• Financial analysis and modeling experience required.

• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and data reporting systems.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and communicate issues, findings, and recommendations to leadership and other constituents.

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent presentation skills.

• Ability to work with others in a team environment.

• Professionalism and a customer-focused orientation in order to interface with both internal and external individuals.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.

• Familiarity with Axiom, Epic, Link, Cube, SQKM Mastro, or CPSC data preferred.

• Prior supervisor experience preferred.

• Basic understanding of interpreting billing data including gross charges, net revenue, RVUs, and CPTs preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the physician compensation team to reconcile provider cFTE to ensure bonuses are calculated appropriately.

• Set-up labor distribution templates and manage labor cost transfers for all RUMG, ROPPG and Copley providers.

• Review month end bonus accruals, process bi-weekly moonlighting payments and work with faculty recruitment to ensure sign-on bonuses and guarantees are processed in a timely fashion.

• Reviews and assists in the preparation of detailed cost and financial analysis and forecasts.

• Maintains RUMG funds flow, strategic and program support data, and makes recommendations for changes based on financial performance.

• Plays a key role in the development of annual budget process in collaboration with department finance managers, Budget Office, and other members of the RUMG team.

• Assist with the preparation of RUMG quarterly department financial reviews.

• Maintains various databases, record keeping systems, and all applicable project files to ensure program records are up to date, alerting department leadership of any abnormalities.

• Assists RUMG with policy and procedure development.

• Provides overall post-award administration, such as financial-based analytical services related to award set up, hiring, budgeting, spending, reporting, and closeout.

• Reviews contracts and other award documentation to determine budget, invoicing schedule, restrictions, and other pertinent information.

• Designs and develops standard and ad hoc reports to effectively translate complex data into decision support tools for management.

• Identifies and presents options and alternatives to improve operational and data management efficiency.

• Develops, create, and seek out innovative ways to meet and exceed performance goals for RUMG.

• Works with colleagues and department leadership to solve problems, answer questions, and give guidance on grant administration, operating budgets and managing LDs/LCTs.
