Robert Half is seeking a Civil Litigation Legal Assistant to join a great firm in downtown Chicago. This full-time Legal Assistant is based in the Chicago, Illinois area. This job will be right for you if you have a real passion for the legal industry. Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with pleadings, court filings, and trial preparation

• Take incoming phone calls and lend an extra ear with handling high volume phone lines

• Efficiently organize correspondence and pleadings, arrange for service on parties

• Maintain case calendar and monitor deadlines

• Manage hard copies of documents, as well as the electronic document system

• Partake in preparing exhibit binders for depositions, hearings and trials

• Prepare a variety of documents and correspondence

  Requirements

Requirements:

• Comprehensive knowledge of workers compensation

• Previous legal work experience and a dedication to integrity

• Incoming phone call management skills desired

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize client matters and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent through each task performed

• Knowledgeable with Internet research, calendaring, word processing and spreadsheets

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Eagerness to learn new concepts
