The University of Chicago\'s Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) seek applications for appointment as full, associate, or assistant professor. Appointment will be in an appropriate basic or clinical department and will focus on cancer health equity.

Appointees will join other faculty in the recently established Center to Eliminate Cancer Inequity (CinEQUITY), whichprovides strategic leadership to pioneer transformative equity-focused research in partnership with Chicagoland communities.

CinEQUITY faculty strive to discover and intervene on biologic, behavioral, environmental, and socio-structural factors that uniquely and synergistically drive cancer health disparities. Faculty are united in the mission to create solutions to eliminate disparities that can be implemented by communities, healthcare systems, and policymakers and address social/environmental justice. Eliminating disparities is the first pillar of UCCCC\'s strategic plan and UCCCC seeks innovative investigators whose research programs are aligned with catchment area priorities.

UCCCC supports CinEQUITY\'s mission and objectives through a network of 8 hospitals and 40 clinics, infrastructure to support community engagement and trainees at all levels of education, and collaboration with the Institute for Translational Medicine (CTSA). For example, UCCCC educational resources support faculty\'s mentorship of doctoral/post-doctoral trainees interested in cancer health equity and offer workshops addressing diversity and inclusion topics for their research team. A key goal is to increase the number of underrepresented scientists conducting ground-breaking cancer health equity research.

The UCCCC delivers outstanding patient care, conducts world-renowned research, and provides exemplary undergraduate, graduate, medical, and postgraduate education. The UCCCC received NCI designation in 1974 and designation as a comprehensive cancer center in 2008; its mission is to elucidate the determinants of cancer, to develop cures for cancer, and to prevent cancer through research, clinical care, education, and community engagement. Members of the UCCCC collaborate widely across the BSD, with other Divisions, Schools, and Institutes at the University of Chicago, and with researchers at Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Appointees will be invited to join one of UCCCC\'s four research programs, based on fit with the appointees\' background and training, area of research, and preference.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent.

We especially welcome applications from investigators focused on cancers of the breast, colorectal, HPV-related, liver, lung, and prostate as well as the key risk factors of obesity, tobacco, chemicals, viruses, and under-screening. We also welcome applications from scientists from the following disciplines or research areas: health communication, implementation science, data sciences, cancer/translational genomics, and precision medicine. Both established investigators with a track record of NCI grant funding, as well as early-stage investigators with K support are encouraged to apply.
