Job Description:
Under supervision, the class performs fully functional professional auditing duties at the intermediate level where the position works independently on moderately complex auditing assignments and conducts out of area audits under the guidance of senior level auditors; and performs related duties as required. These positions require one year of professional auditing experience and primarily audit moderate size businesses with many tax obligations, or audit delegate agencies with moderately complex contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Conducting fiscal audits by assessing an agency’s accounting records and internal controls for compliance with City, State, Federal, and GAAP guidelines related to their DFSS contract.
Evaluate their caseload, schedule priority audits, conduct preaudit activities.
Communicates with agencies via email and phone.
Complete the DFSS fiscal audit instrument and track audits from start to finish via a software platform.

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a directly related field with 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus one (1) year of professional auditing experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.
Licensure, Certification or Other Qualifications
A valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required.
Must have the permanent use of an automobile that is properly insured including a clause specifically insuring the City of Chicago from accident liability.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Previous work experience in auditing with GAAP, federal, state and city funding requirements
Previous work experience inputting data and verifying data for accuracy.
Proficiency with software applications like Microsoft Office Suite, One Drive, Teams and ISupplier
Previous experience analyzing information, and problem solving
