Job Description:

Individual/Foundation Group Accounting Assistant position within a 50 person professional services firm which provides accounting, tax compliance and planning, legal, trust administration, business management, financial management, treasury and technology services to the enterprises of two wealthy families, including business entities, trusts, individuals and foundations. This position reports to the Senior Accountant and Manager of Individual/Foundation Group and works with all of the other professional service providers.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the process of maintaining general ledgers, including preparation of accounting entries for the day to day transactions and other activity;

• Accounts payable, including reviewing invoices for appropriate and proper approvals and preparing check or wire journal entries for payment;

• Accounts receivable and cash receipts, including preparation of journal entries to record cash receipts and reconciliation of accounts, when necessary;

• Assist with special projects, as needed.

  Requirements

Desired skills

• A minimum of 3 years work experience in accounting or equivalent experience

• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and Microsoft skills (Excel, Work, and Outlook);

• Experience with data entry in spreadsheet and database environments;

• Excellent organizational skills with an acute awareness of deadlines;

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment with all levels of personnel.
