Responsibilities You will conduct spot inventories to inform inventory control personnel of empty bin conditions, unusual material demands, or discrepancies noted between the physical inventory and book count. You will conduct visual inspections of tools and parts to determine damages and defects. You will read and understand repair manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and schematics to determine substitute or interchangeable items. You will keep management advised of material and equipment needs. You will follow machine shop safety practices when operating equipment. You will inform the supervisor of any observed unsafe practices or procedures in accordance to established policies and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION SCREEN OUT ELEMENT: serve as the tools and parts attendant and will perform receipt, issue, stocking, inventory, inspection, and repair duties in the tool and parts room. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
