Ford Motor Company Network - Project Manager in Chennai, India

The Global Network Performance Management Team is a highly skilled, diverse team in AP and NA and responsible to deliver, maintain and administer emerging technological network performance solutions for ITO.

The Network Systems Developer is a key team member in the Global Network Performance Management team and will be an important part of our current transition that will have significant business impact, as we onboard and implement new monitoring tools, which include Cisco’s Thousand Eyes, IBM’s LogScale, SevOne, and AI Ops.

In this position…

The Network Systems Developer will work with Network Management and Monitoring software to provide visibility into enterprise data systems. This will require detailed knowledge of network architecture and functionality and the software used to report and maintain service availability. The candidate will need the ability to work with a diverse team including network administrators, planners, and vendors. Key skills are needed in cloud services, software, and hardware integration, and written and oral communication. Candidate must be available for after-hours on-call rotation to serve as Level 3 support.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do…

  • Participate in the implementation of Thousand Eyes, SevOne, LogScale and AI Ops.

  • Customize network management systems to automate monitoring processes and procedures; including but not limited to dashboards, test set-up, and custom customer requirements.

  • Provide network monitoring system support and hold regular seminars to train Network Operations staff as well as Network Performance Management users including management.

  • Troubleshooting, patching, upgrading of Network Performance Mgt. systems

  • Understand security and control processes, and work with a security and audit mindset.

  • Serve as a Technical Expert, aiding internal Ford customers.

  • Provide after-hours on-call Level 3 support.

  • Work with the Network Automation team to automate processes and simplify work.

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems and Technology, Computer Science, or Equivalent Experience

  • Knowledge of Thousand Eyes, SevOne, LogScale, and AIOps.

  • Experience programming.

  • Ability to do scripting in Python and Bash.

  • Cloud experience (preferably GCP).

  • Ability to provide proactive oversight of deployed infrastructure.

  • Analytics and Dashboard creation experience (preferably with LogScale).

Even better, you may have…

  • Experience with Thousand Eyes, SevOne, LogScale, and AIOps.

  • Skilled in programming with Python and Go.

  • Cloud Network architecture experience.

  • CCNA certification, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with Agile projects, and utilizing tools, i.e., Rally.

  • Artificial Intelligence training and application skills.
