Description We are offering an opportunity in the healthcare sector located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The role is for a Patient Access Specialist, who will play a crucial role in our healthcare system by ensuring seamless patient access and a smooth patient experience. The position is office-based and involves communication with patients, providers, and team members via phone and email.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the patient registration process, ensuring accurate collection and entry of demographic and insurance information into the electronic health records (EHR) system.

• Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and tests according to established protocols for optimal resource utilization and minimal wait times.

• Verify patients' insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits to facilitate accurate billing and reimbursement processes.

• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their interaction with the healthcare system.

• Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and physicians to coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions of care.

• Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including guidelines to safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, registrations, and scheduling activities, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.

• Work closely with other members of the centralized patient access team, including schedulers, billing specialists, and administrative staff, to optimize workflow efficiency and achieve departmental goals.

• Participate in training sessions, quality improvement initiatives, and process optimization efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of patient access services.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using Epic Software, Customer Service, Answering Inbound Calls, Schedule Appointments, Enterprise Messaging, Problem Resolution, Medical Insurance Verification.

This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry

• Proficiency in Epic Software

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Experience in answering inbound calls in a professional manner

• Ability to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently

• Knowledge of Enterprise Messaging systems

• Demonstrated ability in problem resolution

• Experience in Medical Insurance Verification

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• High level of professionalism and respect for patient confidentiality.
