Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Super Fab Lab Manager is responsible for the operation and management of the College of Engineering Super Fab Lab. These resources include a machine shop, woodshop, electronics shop, polymer processing, and student design space. The work requires extensive knowledge of machining and digital fabrication.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
operational oversight and training for use of equipment
safety oversight and training of faculty, staff, and students using the lab
facility planning and maintenance
inventory control
purchasing and maintenance of laboratory equipment
fiscal and administrative services
monitoring environmental risks and quality control
planning and scheduling work, classes, and events
planning and scheduling research project work in the lab
providing technical support and expertise in design and execution of teaching and research projects
teach workshops
determining staff assignments and training needs
outreach including tours, workshops or similar events.
human resource management for student employees
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, and 5 years relevant experience to include experience in the operation of equipment typical to a Machine Shop, including CNC mills/routers, 3d printers, laser cutters and robotics.
