Job Description:

This job is responsible for providing risk oversight and advice to the Line of Business (LOB) on risk management issues. Key responsibilities include identifying risks to which the LOB is exposed, implementing measures to prevent and mitigate losses, and monitoring risk outcomes. Job expectations may include the ability to recognize all risk categories including credit, market, operational and compliance, as well as directing risk staff or participating in establish risk management procedures and standards.

The Risk Governance team, part of the Global Risk Management organization, is responsible for ensuring “best-in-class” and consistent risk committee governance practices across the company. The team plans, oversees and executes the Management Risk Committee and Board-level Enterprise Risk Committee governance routines, as well as oversees and provides support to all risk committees across the company. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to support governance deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Front Line Units and Risk executives across the enterprise to ensure appropriate escalation of key risks in accordance with the company’s risk governance framework and regulatory requirements

  • Lead the review of committee materials and provide thoughtful, value add feedback to improve and ensure content is appropriate for an executive / board-level audience across a broad range of topics

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders for logistics and committee meeting preparation

  • Assist in annual planning of the committee meetings and activities

  • Provide advice and counsel to committees across the company to ensure all are functioning in accordance with our guidelines

  • Participates in establishing risk management procedures and standards

  • Conducts execution of risk framework activities including independent monitoring and testing of controls and risk management processes

  • Liaisons with businesses to understand market trends and impacts on portfolio, using knowledge of stress testing and its applicability to risk categories

  • Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of financial industry or risk experience

  • Intense attention to accuracy, detail, and consistency

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively challenge information

  • Strong communication skills: ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and to feel comfortable delivering insights and recommendations to senior management

  • Comfortable taking initiative and beingresourceful/entrepreneurial

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-specific environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize daily tasks with project work as well as ad-hoc requests

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
