Position Summary: The Security Engineer is responsible for contributing to the planning and implementation of the overall information security strategy. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, demonstrating a strong background in implementing technology solutions that protect the enterprise. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate and mitigate security threats, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data and infrastructure.
Essential Functions:
Implement and manage security solutions, including PAM, EDR, WAF, and automation tools, to protect systems and data.
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures in line with best practices and compliance requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks.
Assist with incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Automate security processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.
Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security measures into existing and new infrastructure.
Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
3 + years’ experience in a security focused role.
At least 1 security focused certification such as Security+, AZ-500, CySA, etc.
Basic coding skills, such as Python, PowerShell and other languages.
Experience managing firewalls, IDS, IPS, and network security solutions.
2+ years of experience working with an AV/EDR solution (eg: SentinelOne, Crowdstrike)
2+ years of experience working with a PAM solution (eg: CyberArk, Delinea)
2+ years of experience administering and securing cloud environments.
2+ years of experience administering email security tools (eg: ProofPoint, Mimecast)
Basic experience with incident response concepts and forensics collection.
Knowledge of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
Able to respond to Security issues after hours when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g. Security+, AZ-500, CySA, PNPT) are highly desirable.
Familiarity with SOC2, risk assessments, and other GRC functions.
Continuous growth and learning.
Strong willingness to create and modify documentation of key security practices.
Strong understanding of network security, protocols, and encryption technologies.
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST and CIS.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey security risks and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
