Staff accountants in the Driven Brands Accounting Program will have the unique opportunity to work with a variety of the Company’s verticals, including Shared Services, Repair & Maintenance, Distribution, Paint & Collision and Quick Lube. The intent of this role is to provide participants with an opportunity to develop their understanding of accounting concepts and to gain an in-depth understanding of the accounting function across verticals such that upon completion, participants will emerge well-rounded in their understanding of accounting and will have a broad but comprehensive knowledge of the entire company.
The day to day focus of the position will be to provide accounting and financial support for the Company. This includes understanding and managing certain general ledger accounts including daily cash reconciliations, detail analysis and presentation of financial data, preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations, and other similar activities or ad hoc requests. This individual must be a strong accountant who is eager to learn and contribute towards continuous improvement within the shared services model.
Assist with month-end close processes, record journal entries and provide appropriate detail level review and analysis
Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned
Perform monthly financial variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of account fluctuations
Take ownership of assigned GL accounts and ensure accuracy, understanding, and consistency of application and compliance with GAAP
Assist with preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit requests
Establish productive relationships within finance and other departments
Maintain financial records in compliance with corporate policies and procedures
Act as business partner with management to provide recommendations to improve month end processes, financial controls, forecasting and general analytics
Analyze current processes and make recommendations for process improvement
Candidates should have a BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
1 to 2 years of accounting experience preferred
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong excel skills
Experience obtaining and analyzing data from an ERP and database management systems (MAS500 experience preferred, but not required)
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to solve unstructured business and accounting problems and lead multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal skills
Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on a team and a positive disposition.
