Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Charleston, South Carolina
Description If you have a background in accounting and are searching for a role with a highly respected Construction/Contractor firm, Robert Half may have the Senior Accountant position for you. You will use your knowledge and skills to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. To be successful, candidates need to be highly adept at analytics and working in challenging, fast-paced environments. This Senior Accountant role is located in Charleston, South Carolina. The person in this role will be well compensated and offered a benefits package and the opportunity for advancement.

Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP Requirements
Efficient in ERP systems
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Knowledge of Construction Accounting
Solid understanding of Job Cost
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
