SAIC Space Systems Integration and Test Engineer in CHANTILLY, Virginia

Description

SAIC is looking for an Space Systems Integration and Test Engineer. This position will translate the clients business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex solutions and integrating architecture. May include analysis of transition planning, test requirements, and may develop test architecture baselines. Assists with and leads development of integration, migration plans/schedules.

The Systems Integration and Test Engineer provides technical support and advisory services on complex space systems integration and test efforts. For the purpose of this position the Systems Integration and Test Engineer will be support the customer in the identification and management of the system integration and test activities associated with a large space systems program. This includes the development of test objectives, plans schedules, and the execution of the tests, supporting analysis and developing reports. The Systems Integration and Test Engineer also supports the integration and transition of the systems into the operational baseline. The Systems Integration and Test Engineer possesses demonstrated working knowledge of large space systems development, integration and test activities necessary to enable the demonstration of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify activities necessary to enable the integration, test, and delivery of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise

  • Develop detailed test objectives, plans and success criteria, requirement closure approaches, test execution schedules, simulated data sets to support test, test connectivity, Test Readiness Review documentation and test reports

  • Work with multiple teams and program offices supporting the coordination, development and execution of system test plans and integration efforts to include the planning, coordinating, executing tests, deconflicting resources, analyzing test data, identifying and facilitating the resolution of issues, and documenting test results

  • Coordinate system test level activities across the enterprise

  • Help the customer establish priorities and engage with various internal and external stakeholders to include senior level executive officials, military officers, development contractors, and end users

  • Develop briefings, written reports, and assessments to be provided to a variety of audiences, from working level to senior executives.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed based on customer directed objectives and without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

IMPACT: Guides the successful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Requires an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance
