Job Description:

Requires work to be done at a Parsons office 3 days a week. Remote work not an option.

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Piping Designer to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • 2D and 3D Process piping and equipment arrangement plans

  • Being active in developing P&ID's and schematic diagrams

  • Coordinate Project CAD Procedures

  • Checking and approving design deliverable drawings

  • Review contractor's project submittals

  • Coordinate project design deliverables with the engineering team and other designers to meet project schedules.

  • Field visits to project and walk-down sites to identify existing and proposed modification design changes.

  • New industrial facilities design, Industrial facilities plant modifications and demolition designs, and support to environmental remedial design projects.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 2D and 3D Autodesk based CAD skills

  • Process Piping Design to ASME B31.3 code requirements

  • Facility plant piping and mechanical systems design to ASME B31.9 Code requirements

  • CAD coordination and management skills

  • 2 year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Job site field experience, ability to detail proposed designs

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Piping and Mechanical systems design with Rivet software

  • Some civil site planning and site grading experience, Civil 3D is a plus

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be proficient with Plant 3D software to be able to design and draft 3D models for projects, specifically CADWorx. The project deliverables include ISOs, piping plans, plant plans, and MTOs. Be familiar with P&IDs and be able to provide redlines as part of the P&ID review process. Being knowledgeable about codes and standards. Proficiency in field verification and measurements. Having a basic knowledge of materials, performing vendor data review of equipment and components and determining optimum equipment, piping layout, and tie-in locations.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Requirements include PC literacy and proficiency in utilizing CADWorx and other computer software used to complete design assignments.

Salary Range:

$29.42 - $51.49
