Description

Robert Half is staffing for a globally recognized healthcare organization searching for a detail-oriented, compassionate, and highly efficient on-site Patient Registration Representative for our busy Emergency Room department. This individual will act as the first point of contact for patients coming into our emergency room, so the ability to remain calm under pressure, show empathy, and efficiently carry out duties is crucial. The Patient Registration Representative must be flexible to work a rotating shift onsite in Chandler, AZ

Responsibilities:

• Assisting patients in the registration process upon arrival, ensuring that all necessary personal, insurance and medical details are correctly recorded.

• Coordinating with medical staff to ensure efficient scheduling and admissions, optimizing the use of medical resources.

• Promptly managing the check-in and check-out processes to ensure a smooth flow in the emergency room.

• Verifying insurance details promptly and accurately, liaising with insurance companies as required.

• Providing compassionate communication with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals amid emergency situations.

• Scanning forms and maintaining clear, accurate electronic records in compliance with hospital procedures and government regulations.

• Ensuring prompt and accurate patient referrals where necessary.

• Assisting with the overall workflow in the emergency department by answering calls, scheduling appointments and completing administrative tasks as needed.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor's degree or coursework in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in an emergency room or fast-paced healthcare setting is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.

• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems; experience with Epic System is a plus but not essential as training will be provided.

• Ability to understand and adhere to HIPAA laws and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
