Description

Our Fortune 500 Client is looking for a Release of Information Specialist to join their team. As a Release of Information Specialist, you will be a key component in customer satisfaction and have a responsibility to make every contact informative productive, and positive for our members and providers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Release of Information Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, legal representatives, and other authorized individuals or organizations.

  • Verify the identity and authorization of requestors following HIPAA and other relevant privacy laws.

  • Retrieve, assemble, and organize medical records and other relevant documents for release, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Utilize electronic health record systems and other technology platforms to manage and track requests, maintain documentation, and generate reports as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to the release of medical information, including maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to release of information policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and facilitate the timely and accurate release of information.

  • Maintain proficiency in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to health information management and privacy.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, document management software, and other technology tools.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive medical information
