Farnsworth Group is seeking a Survey Crew Chief in our Bloomington, Champaign, Peoria, Pontiac, or Springfield, IL office. Qualified candidates will perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout. This is not a contract position; we are looking to fill a permanent position where you will have the opportunity to establish and develop a career in Land Surveying.

Job Activities:

• Perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys in accordance with the 2021 ALTA/ NSPS Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys

• Conduct Boundary Research and Surveys according to the Illinois Minimum Standards for Boundary Surveys (original or retracement surveys)

• Perform topographic surveys of small sites to large farm surveys with ATV’s

• Conduct Construction Layout for site development, commercial/ retail, residential, industrial/ warehouse, subdivisions, municipal and transportation

• Perform As-Built Pipeline Surveys

• Perform 3D Scanning, UAV and drone surveys

Specific Requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years of property survey experience, including ALTA and Section Line Surveys

• Experience with Trimble GPS, Total Station and Data Collectors

• Ability to organize field notes

• Ability to read Construction Plans

• Experience performing Boundary Research preferred

• Ability to execute field staking

• Strong math skills

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel 50-60% required for this position.

Desired Qualifications:

• Oil & Gas Pipeline experience

• DOT experience
