Come join our team as Product Coordinator Freezer Lead!

Summary: Coordinates the flow of stale and finished fresh product for distribution and return processing and prepares orders for distribution in an efficient and accurate manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transports finished product via an electric- jack from palletizer to staging locations or freezer in an accurate and orderly fashion

  • Transports finished product via fork lift or high reach truck from staging locations to locations within the freezer.

  • Uses Savanna Systems to track inventory and fulfill orders.

  • Transports finished product via an electric -jack from the palletizer to the storage location or a tractor-trailer in an accurate and orderly fashion.

  • Ensures each pallet is strapped or wrapped correctly.

  • Maintains the supply of pallets to the palletizing machines.

  • Removes broken or dirty baskets and pallets from circulation.

  • Examines and removes any defective product from the pallets.

  • Checks product clips to ensure the accurate color, price, and date are used.

  • Checks frozen product to ensure accurate box labels, lot codes and dates are used.

  • Receives, picks, verifies, loads, and ships product orders.

  • Uses tablet to verify quality of loading for customers.

  • Communicates with jockeys and carrier drivers to finalize paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Attaches or marks identifying tags or labels to product or materials.

  • Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent the shifting and damage of loads while in transit.

  • Unloads returned product from tractor-trailers and transports to the stale area.

  • Empties baskets, tubs, and pallets of stale product into the stale machine.

  • Operates and fills the stale machine.

  • Monitors and fills the basket lines with empty baskets.

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the trailers, stale room, and warehouse.

  • Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.

    Lead Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist Supervisor in directing work of employees in the Transport Department. Ensures that employees are following food safety standards and departmental procedures.

  • Ensure that product standards are upheld. Product is in spec, no damages, or quality concerns.

  • Ensure that other freezer workers are doing their job duties safely and correct, while also following procedures.

  • Communicating with other departments such as logistics and product coordinating supervision.

  • Ensures that loads are being shipped on time and accurately.

  • Training and developing team members who work in the freezer.

  • Signing, documenting, and inspecting loads before shipment.

  • Monitoring tablet data entry, reporting errors and issues, and ensuring all data is submitted.

  • Confirming container temperatures every 2 hours while on duty.

  • Opening and closing dock doors every 1-2 hours while on duty to prevent freezing.

  • Monitoring processes, equipment, and systems to ensure there are no errors or issues.

  • Sending end of shift reports. Communicates needs and changes to the team via email, text or phone.

    Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED;

  • Related experience or training helpful.

  • Prior Electric Pallet Jack, Sitdown and Reach truck experience required.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    · Ability to learn and use Savanna system to fulfill orders.

    · Ability to operate or learn to operate an Electric Jack.

    · Ability to operate or learn to operate Sit down Fork Lift

    · Ability to operate or learn to operate High Reach Truck

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The temperature in the dock area is directly affected by outside temperatures. The temperature with the freezer are typically between -10 and 0 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
