About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, at Letterkenny Army Depot, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities Perform analysis of electronic, multi-system complexes that are interrelated and produce a variety of data and feedback. Provide expertise in the development prove-in of modifications, test and repair procedures to training and tactical field locations. Test electronic, mechanical, and/or hydraulic pneumatic systems to recognize deficiencies. Use a range of multimeters, oscilloscopes and analyzers to isolate malfunctions. Determine methods of repair involving complex electronic interrelationships. Adjust a variety of electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems in test equipment. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. These duties include: alignment of electronic, multi-system complexes; testing and repairing electrical and mechanical hydraulic systems; and using various types of test equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools - Electronics Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT Requires moderate physical effort to lift and carry items weighing approximately 40 pounds. Required to stoop, bend and stand for prolonged periods and some assignments required climbing20 to 50 foot heights. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop areas or at missile site and is occasionally subject to inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns and shocks caused by high voltage energy and soldering irons. This is a Logistics Career Field (CF) position (formerly Career Program 17 Materiel Maintenance Management). Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
