Description
This position involves training and coaching with respect to safety and New York State laws and agency policies.
Instructs and trains new transportation drivers in compliance with DOT and Article 19A of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Provides classroom and/or behind-the-wheel training to new drivers or re-training of current drivers. May provide other training to location personnel.
Will evaluate all drivers competency (strengths and weaknesses) while working with them and report back to Transportation Supervisor.
Will work with management to help design and implement safety trainings and initiatives to prevent accidents and promote safety.
While the focus of the position is on driver training, employee may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings).
May be required to perform other duties as deemed necessary by Transportation Management.
A high school diploma or GED is desired. NYS CDL driver’s license with proper endorsements & 19A qualification required and a driving record acceptable to The Arc Mid-Hudson and basic computer knowledge are a must.
HOURS: 40 hours weekly - Monday thru Friday 8a-4p
STARTING SALARY: $21.60 - $25.17 per hour
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is desired.
NYS CDL driver’s license with proper endorsements & 19A qualification required
Driving record acceptable to The Arc Mid-Hudson and basic computer knowledge are required
