Cleveland Clinic Associate Accountant - CC AtWork in Canton, Ohio

As the Associate Accountant, you will assist with financial processes specific to our Cleveland Clinic At Work program at Mercy. This program is expanding and providing services not available anywhere else within Cleveland Clinic. Your duties include:

  • Preparing general ledger entries in conjunction with monthly closing processes and reconciles general ledger accounts.

  • Building and maintaining necessary logs, databases and spreadsheets for financial processes and reporting.

  • Performing departmental analysis as needed.

This role has potential to grow beyond the local Mercy Cleveland Clinic At Work team and expand to the Enterprise Cleveland Clinic At Work department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares general ledger entries in conjunction with monthly closing processes and reconciles general ledger accounts.

  • Builds and maintains necessary logs, databases and spreadsheets for financial processes and reporting.

  • Performs departmental analysis as required or requested.

  • Researches and analyzes details related to assigned tasks.

  • Supports accounting projects as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Degree / GED or equivalent required.

  • Associate's degree preferred.

  • Strong computer skills needed, including proficiency in working with spreadsheets and database management software. (Microsoft Excel and Access preferred).

Certifications:

  • None required.

Competencies (Complexity of Work):

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Two years of experience in accounting, finance or related area required.

  • Offset: Associate's degree may offset one year of experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.

  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.88

Maximum hourly: $28.80
