The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced IT Service Delivery Manager to oversee and manage the delivery of IT services to the LAND environments within Defence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT service management, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with business needs and service health indicators. The candidate should also have Defence experience and be able to work with limited direction, we are looking for a skilled self-starter.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the DIE and MPE environments, understanding their IT service requirements and ensuring the delivery meets or exceeds their expectations.

  • Work with a team responsible for delivering IT services, ensuring high performance, motivation, and professional development.

  • Define, implement, and monitor IT service delivery processes and procedures based on ITIL or other relevant frameworks to maintain service quality and compliance.

  • Monitor service metrics and SHIs to track performance, analyse trends, and implement improvements to enhance service delivery.

  • Act as a point of escalation for critical incidents or service delivery issues, overseeing resolution and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams (such as infrastructure, operations, support) to ensure seamless service delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on service performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and improvement initiatives to senior management.

    As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in IT service delivery management, preferably in a similar role, with a strong understanding of ITIL or other service management frameworks.

  • Defence experience essential

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement improvements.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and contracts.

  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher is preferred.

  • Ability to work within a team environment.
