Job Coach (CV81-1) - Reentry Services Division

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is looking to hire a Job Coach to join our highly dynamic and growing team. They will report to the Employment Director and/or Treatment Coordinator and become part of the facility's education/treatment team.

Responsibilities include assisting clients in obtaining employment by facilitating workplace readiness curriculum, completing administrative functions supporting employment and education of clients, and generally supporting the employment counseling function.

Scope Of Duties:

  • Interact (verbally and non-verbally) with all clients, staff, and community members professionally with respect and courtesy.

  • Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.

  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.

  • Orient new clients to educational, vocational, and employment services.

  • Assist in conducting educational and employment assessment of clients.

  • Collect data and maintain accurate records necessary for monthly reports for funding agencies.

  • Initiate education/employment files for new clients and assure all client documents are filed weekly.

  • Conduct telephone job verification for all clients in accordance with funding source requirements.

  • Notify funding source in writing of each client's employment.

  • Conduct job readiness and job retention classes.

  • Participate in all team meetings.

  • Assist with the completion of necessary documentation in accordance with funding source requirements and policies and procedures.

  • Assist client in securing documentation needed for employment and training opportunities including escorting clients to respective agencies to secure documentation.

  • Transporting clients to job fairs and other work/educational activities.

  • Facilitate Pre/Post TABE Test and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Any duties assigned by Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.

  • Occasionally required to smell, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.

  • Regularly required to see clearly at 20 inches or less, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes remains fixed on a given point.

Credentials/Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED.

  • Previous work experience in human services preferred but not essential.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interact appropriately with clientele.

  • Must possess valid driver's license and be able to meet agency driver standards.
