What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will support the day-to-day operations of the Amgen Massachusetts (AMA) Cambridge, MA campus. Reporting to the AMA Chief of Staff, this position supports everything from site visits, office management, events, and employee engagement to keep our employees safe, happy, and productive. You will work closely with executive leadership and individual employees to ensure that Amgen remains a great place to work. One day you might be supporting a site visit from an international government delegation, the next leading an engagement event with one of our 11 Employee Resource Groups (ERG) or hosting a 140+ guest scientific conference in our auditorium. Every day will be different.

  • Be the point person responsible for the day-to-day success of the campus

  • Take ownership of and lead the AMA Business Operations Team weekly check-in. Managing agenda, actions, and key takeaways to ensure the cross-functional team continues to meet the needs of the site

  • Act as the face of Amgen for anyone visiting or working at the AMA campus

  • Manage the internal site calendar and work with leadership, executive assistants, staff, & visitors to schedule events, visits, tours, or workshops.

  • Ideate and lead or support initiatives that bring together staff at the site

  • Work with Human Resources team to set up employees for success by establishing a comprehensive and immersive on-site onboarding experience

  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure that the office is in an operationally excellent condition, and address any concerns directly to keep our office a great place to work

  • Support site leadership, AMA Employee Resource Groups (ERG), and internal engagement leads with event management and logistics

  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with leadership, facilities, EH&S, lab management, & vendor partners

  • Interface with other regional Amgen sites on wellness programs and initiatives to engage staff

  • Assist the Site Head and AMA Senior Leadership Team with ad hoc projects

  • Work with facilities & vendor partners to maintain office supply inventory

  • Supports manager with financial management and vendor / expense reimbursement

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and 8 years of experience working in either business operations, office management, or an office administrative support role

Or

Associates degree and 4 years of experience working in either business operations, office management, or an office administrative support role

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience working in either business operations, office management, or an office administrative support role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in-office, 5 days a week

  • Experience supporting office operations for a well-known co-working space, incubator, or an established startup is highly preferred

  • Experience working with executive leadership is a plus

  • A true people person, with an empathetic and friendly demeanor

  • Adaptive person who enjoys solving problems and improving processes

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

  • Takes pride in the appearance of the office and wants to create an engaging environment where everyone enjoys coming to work

  • Self-starter and highly accountable individual who demonstrates strong collaboration and openly shares / seeks appropriate information

  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Bring creativity and fresh ideas that help contribute to the culture at Amgen

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
