What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for development and qualification of analytical methods, the characterization of protein-based biologic therapies, and supporting process development activities.

  • Work in a cross-functional team environment to advance therapies in late-stage development.

  • Analyze late-stage protein-based therapies with advanced techniques such as capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, as well as other methods such as Ellman’s assay, etc.

  • Lead or contribute to development, optimization, and troubleshooting of analytical methods, participate in qualifications, transfer, and validation experiments with focus on separation-based purity methods.

  • Develop novel process or approaches to solve problems within the scope of analytical sciences.

  • Mange project work packages or workflows executed by others.

  • Mentors and guides junior staff members.

  • Integrates results both within work group and cross-functional groups into experimental design.

  • Other duties include data analysis, preparation of electronic notebook records of experimental data, authorship of technical protocols and reports, presentation of results at team meeting, and support for regulatory filings as needed.

  • Serves as role-model for junior staff in laboratory environment, troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment.

  • Lead troubleshooting of complex technical issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific / pharmaceutical experience

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant job experience

  • Doctorate degree or doctorate degree completed by July 2024

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related subject area.

  • Excellent laboratory skills with 4+ years of laboratory research or experience in industry laboratories supporting analysis and characterization of protein therapies.

  • Advanced technical expertise in analytical methodologies used to characterize protein therapeutics including CE-SDS, cIEF / icIEF, HIC, SEC, IEX, RP, HILIC, MS, etc.

  • Expertise handling, troubleshooting, and maintaining CE and LC instruments.

  • Expertise using CE and LC operation and data analysis software.

  • Experience with data processing and statistical analysis software tools.

  • Ability to independently prioritize, schedule, and handle multiple tasks to meet results.

  • Ability to lead small projects and / or work packages.

  • Ability to work in a matrix team environment and collaborate effectively.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with use of electronic notebooks.

  • Hands-on experience with method qualifications and transfers.

  • Skilled in phase-appropriate GMP compliance and documentation.

  • Experience supervising or guiding the work of others.
