Description

Summary

Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain the operation of the buildings within Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lights and nurse call lights are replaced, beds repaired, temperature control devices are adjusted, sinks and toilets are maintained in working order and other repairs are completed per established guidelines.

  • Painting services are completed per established guidelines.

  • Documentation reflects repairs, replacement parts and adjustments as per department and regulatory guidelines.

  • Preventative maintenance program is established and maintained per established timeframes.

  • Trucks and other mechanical equipment are operated and maintained in safe and serviceable condition.

  • Safety equipment and tools are readily available and in working order.

  • Emergency and routine repairs are responded to within department timeframes and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Work areas are kept clean and equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks and end of shifts per safety and regulations.

  • Daily work sheets are completed and submitted per department standards.

  • Assistance is provided to the various trades in the installation, maintenance or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems, and snow removal per department standards.

  • Customer service and quality improvement efforts are supported with active participation to meet established goals.

  • Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

Education/Degree

Required

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, or vocational school graduate.

Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)

Required

  • Must be knowledgeable of safe maintenance practices, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language

  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.

  • Maintain variable work schedule to meet the needs of the department (e.g., evenings, holidays, weekends, on-call).

Preferred

  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.

  • Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.

  • Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.

  • High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.

  • Attention to detail.
