This Position is for a Production Supervisor with a company located in Byhalia.

 

Job Summary: This role is responsible for leading and directing the activities of the employees within a production department in compliance with company expectations, standards, processes and LEAN principles to maximize utilization of all employees and equipment. Works with leadership to develop a culture of accountability and empowerment while maintaining high standards in terms of safety and manufacturing efficiency.

 

Responsibilities and Duties: Plan the optimal utilization of direct and indirect labor to meet manufacturing goals and increased production efficiency across the facility. Sustains GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ensure plant policies and procedures are followed and applicable accountability measures are applied. Serve as the main point of contact and escalation for operations, providing leadership, development and direction for other supervisors and production employees, in absence of Area Manager. Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement

Plan and lead the workflow of all production departments. Lead manufacturing SSQDC strategies to meet the performance expectations of business. Lead Continuous Improvement processes within the team. Work with support groups to develop and administer systems, procedures and other support tools to assist in producing quality and cost-efficient products. Identify gaps and develop world-class, cost-effective solutions Ensure employment practices are implemented fairly and consistently, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and TKE policies and procedures. Analyze and audit work standards to ensure workflow synchronization for maximum efficiencies. Lead, train, coach and engage direct and indirect reports on safe, effective and efficient performance. Collaborate with cross functional areas to develop and maintain performance metrics, measurements, methods and targets. Partner with Human Resources, on hiring and employee performance management. Develop a culture of accountability, empowerment, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma, Technical School or associate degree in a related field required; bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college preferred. Eight or more years of experience in manufacturing environment with at least six years in a production leadership role required. Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Principles required. Experience in technical aspects of manufacturing such as: metal fabrication, welding, machining and assembly operations. Experience in a union environment preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield).
