WHAT IS A VA MEDICAL FOSTER HOME? A VA Medical Foster Home (MFH) provides a safe, supportive, long-term care option for Veterans in a comfortable home environment. VA MFHs are an alternative to nursing home and assisted living care and may be an option for Veterans who are unable to safely live alone.

VA MFH CAREGIVERS PROVIDE: * Personalized, comfortable room * Home cooked, nutritious meals * Laundry * Leisure activities * Medication management * 24-hour care and support * Personal care

ARE CAREGIVERS PAID? Yes. The amount varies depending on the extent of care the Veteran requires.
