Job Description:

A Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) maintains patient care equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. He/She performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration verification, and repair of a limited scope of patient care equipment under the guidance and direct observation of experienced Clinical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) professionals. The employee plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with the equipment manufacturers instructions, the healthcare systems policies, and accepted practices. The Supervisor reviews the work for adequacy and conformance with practice and policy.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:

AAS - Associate of Applied Science or Equalivlant Military Experience required. AAS - Associate of Applied Science Biomedical Technology or Electronics Technology preferred. 2 years of experience in Biomedical Equipment Technician position or internship preferred. Preferred licenses/certifications include: ICC/AAMI - CBET, CompTia A+, CompTia Net Status:
