COMPENSATION

$126,204-$179,128 (Hay Point 1040)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is accountable for managing the group of engineers and architects engaged in maintenance. and repair initiatives, construction design and inspection of the Department of Subways’ (DOS) various facilities throughout the NYCT system. The incumbent will assist in the development of maintenance and construction initiatives; ensure adherence to specifications, engineering, architectural and safety standards, and NYCT policies for work on various elements of facilities. Responsible for providing engineering and architectural designs for new construction, modifications/additions, and equipment installations for various NYCT facilities. This position provides direct support required to keep NYCT system operable/maintainable and ensure the safety, availability, and on-time reliability of NYCT's equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent along with 12 years of full time experience and 8 years of managerial/supervisory experience.

Must have a Registered Architect License or Professional Engineer License.

DESIRED SKILLS

Excellent communication skills; Strong team building skills; Strong negotiating skills; Experience in managing projects involving architectural and multidiscipline engineering personnel. Ability to prioritize projects to ensure deadlines are achieved.

SELECTION METHOD

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
