Your Role on Our Team as the Total Rewards Director, you will be a key leader in our Centers of Excellence. You will partner with the leaders on your team, the leaders across the Talent org, and other division peers throughout our parent company. Your advocacy for the employee experience and the consistent application of our plans and policies will continue to make Milwaukee Tool a great place to work. Your subject matter expertise will help guide the future solutions for our teams.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

Benefits Management

  • Responsible for driving all benefit programs which include defined contribution retirement plans, medical, dental, life, salary continuation, disability plus the administration of various other ancillary programs such as time off, spending accounts, employee purchase program.

  • Advises and counsels team to effectively educate and communicate existing benefits to employees.

  • Review benefit program materials, including plan documents and summary plan descriptions annually. Develops employee communication strategies to announce new/revised benefit programs, including drafting announcements and conducting employee meetings.

  • Partners with parent company, Techtronic Industries (TTI), on annual benefit reviews and plan design changes.

  • Manage the employee clinic strategy and management of services.

  • Manages a team that handles benefit inquiries and complaints (directly or indirectly - third party administrator) to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution.

  • Recommends cost effective changes to benefit programs which provide for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.

  • Maintain strong relationship with benefit vendors and external broker to ensure the most optimal pricing is negotiated on existing and new benefit programs.

Compensation

  • Develop Agile Compensation Structure: Design and implement a flexible compensation framework that adapts to the evolving needs of Milwaukee Tool, considering factors such as market trends, business performance, and employee retention.

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the HR Business Partner Leadership team to understand the business's current and future needs, providing expert guidance on compensation matters and proposing innovative solutions to address challenges.

  • Thoughtful Solutions: Offer strategic insights and recommendations to enhance our compensation strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. Propose creative solutions to address compensation-related issues and promote employee engagement and satisfaction.

  • Structure and System Development: Establish clear processes and systems for the compensation team to partner effectively with HR business partners and the business, streamlining communication and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership and guidance to the compensation team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Support the professional development of team members through coaching, training, and mentorship.

Payroll

  • Partner with Payroll team on policy implementation and amendments to time off benefits such as vacation, holidays, sick days, etc.

  • Serve as advisor for business changes that impact payroll- i.e pay group changes, Workday Business Processes, etc.

  • Directs the activity of the payroll function ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of employee pay.

Global Mobility

  • Partner with Talent Management and Business Leaders to determine best outbound solutions for employees in Short Term and Long-Term Ex Pat assignments.

  • Partner with vendor on tax compliance and annual compensation requirements

  • Maintain communication and compliance for all individuals on assignment and support with questions and changes as needed

Leave of Absence and Compliance

  • Manages LOA team to ensure proper compliance with the FMLA, ADA, and Workers Compensation.

  • Manage the team responsible for administration of employee, compensation, and benefits records including the processing, recording, and reporting.

  • Assure compliance of all government regulations affecting employee benefit programs; keep abreast of pending legislation and its potential impact upon the company.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in benefits, compensation, payroll, leave of absence and compliance.

  • Management experience and coaching mindset able to leverage the development resources available throughout the team.

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources, and government regulations as they apply to benefits.

  • Skill in planning, directing and administering benefit programs and systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.

  • Mathematical aptitude and the ability to analyze and present data.

  • Strong communication skills to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively with a Center of Excellence model.

  • Interpersonal and team skills with ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Experience with Workday™ HRIS

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or World at Work certification (CCP, CBP, etc.) designation a plus.
