    JOB SUMMARY

    A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.

    Pay: $21.64 an hour- approx. $45,000 annually.

    FLSA: Non-exempt. Eligible for overtime.

    Schedule: 12am-8am Thursday-Monday (off Tuesday & Wednesday).

    Location: Eastchester neighborhood Bronx, NY

    JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair

  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.

  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs

  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.

  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.

  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications

What do I need to apply?

  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Three years of experience in maintenance or a related field may be substituted for high School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Certificates : F-02 or F80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire)

  • Communication: Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

  • Reasoning Ability: make judgment calls, perform proper notifications, and make appropriate decisions.

  • Physical Performance: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour entire property, walk distances, and climb stairs (2-4 flights).

  • Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details.
