QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.Preferred Campus-specific qualifications

  • CUNY, Higher Education setting, and/or Human Resources experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively and act as a member of a team

  • A proactive, hands-on attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively,multitask, shift priorities quickly, and work under pressure

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Ability to develop and manage various tracking systems• Excellent management, supervisory, and leadership skills• Superior follow-through, oral and written communication skills

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Manages a portfolio of Human Resources programs and operations at the College level.

  • Assumes responsibility for delivery of one or more human resources programs, which may include

recruitment, performance management, labor relations, pay administration, recordkeeping, and/or human

resources technology

  • Manages staff responsible for carrying out operations in the Human Resources office

  • Directly supports College department chairs and managers in staff planning, recruiting, hiring, and resolving

sensitive personnel issues regarding their employees

  • Provides guidance on the impact of laws and regulations, CUNY policies, and collective bargaining agreements

  • Provides outreach to employees and provides communications such as meetings, newsletters, and web sites

  • Compiles accurate and well-organized reports

  • Assists management with developing policies, procedures, and programs to support Human Resources'

objectives

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC DUTIES

Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager will assist in the management of the

office and HR operations. The HR Manager will be responsible for the administration of all of the full cycle

recruitment activities for all full-time and part-time positions, employee performance management, and

managing all CUNYFirst HCM processes.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee/manage and maintain recruitment tracking, employee job data, and position management

for the Office.

• Manage contractual provisions for full-time instructional and classified staff employee groups,

including the appointment and reappointment process, annual evaluations, and contractual salary

increments.

• Assist the Executive Director in the review and evaluation of current CUNY policies, procedures, rules

and regulations; recommend improvements to automate, simplify, and streamline employee

functions.

• Liaise with the college community for the Office of Human Resources, addressing employee inquiries

and resolve issues regarding recruitment activities, CUNYFirst, compensation and job classification.

• Ensure and maintain the data integrity in the central campus HRIS (CUNYFirst), oversee all CUNYFirst

processes in the HCM pillar of CUNYFirst, conduct cyclic wage and job data audits to identify and

resolve any discrepancies on an ongoing basis.

• Supervise the administration of all employee onboarding and orientation sessions.

• Assess, process and track all employee promotions and title/level changes, as necessary.

• Assist the Executive Director in the management of day-to-day office operations and HR personnel

• Additional duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with education and experience: $90,375 - $93,491
